Alfons Martinell Sempere
Alfons Martinell SempereIt has basic training in the fields of education and the humanities. He has just briefly acted as a professor in the formal education briefly before devoting himself to work in institutions with children and young people who face problems of social exclusion and crime. The democratization of the institutions in 1980 led Sempere to take responsibility in cultural management at the municipal level in Girona, Spain. Searching for a more international vision, he came to the government to take over the general direction of cultural and scientific relations of the ministry of foreign affairs and cooperation in 2004 with the task of designing a new foreign policy culture. In this process, a culture and development policy has been implemented in accordance with the Millennium Development Goals and the UNESCO's Convention on Protection of Cultural Diversity. Currently, Sempere focuses on applied research, knowledge transfer and training in areas in which he specializes, with a commitment to international cultural cooperation of the UNESCO Chair at the University of Girona. |
