Paulo Cesar Endo
Paulo Cesar Endo is psychoanalyst, holds a degree in Psychology from the Catholic University of São Paulo and MA in Clinical Psychology from the Catholic University of São Paulo. He is PhD in Psychology Institute, University of São Paulo (2003) and in 2005 the publication of his doctorate, in the form of book, entitled Violence in the Heart of the City: A Psychoanalytic Study, was awarded the Jabuti Award. It is one of the most important prize in literature and sciences in Brazil. He held post-doctoral studies at the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP) in partnership with the Higher Education Personnel Training Coordination (CAPES) between 2004-2005. He was a member of the Interdisciplinary and Independent Group against Torture and Institutional Violence of the Human Rights Special Secretary of Brasilian Government (SEDH) between 2009-2013 and also member of the National Prevention and Combating Torture and Institutional Violence Committee in Brazil (CNPCT) between 2012-2013. He developed studies and research as coordinator of the research group on Social and Political Memory: Subject, History and Culture between at the Center of Humanities, Rights and Other Legitimacies (USP). He is a research member of Work Group Psychoanalysis, Politics and Culture and the Laboratory Psychoanalysis, Art and Politics (UFRGS). Nowadays he develops his activities as professor at Psychology at Institute and at the Post Graduate Programm of Humanities, Rights and legitimacy, both at University of São Paulo. He is also member of the deliberative council of the Center for Studies on Diversities, Intolerances and Conflicts (Diversitas / USP) and a member of Chair UNESCO/ USP of Education for Peace, Human Rights, Democracy and Tolerance. His studies on memory unfolded academic interchanges with the University of Gdansk in Poland where he stayed as Visiting Professor in may of 2016, invited by Professor Wojciech Owczarski. One seminar and three international conferences were organized by Prof. Paulo Endo and Professor Wojciech Owczarski in Brazil. They happened in Poland and in Brazil as result of partnership between University of Gdansk and University of São Paulo. Dreams, Phantasms and Memory(2013), Memory, Melancholy and Nostalgia(2014) and Human Rights, Violence and Dictatorships(2015) happened in Poland and Preparatory Seminar on Solidarity, Memory and Identity(2014) took place in Brazil. |
