Stuart Paul Denoon-Stevens
Stuart Paul Denoon-Stevens is an academic and town planner working to understand how we can create better places to live and work. His expertise includes basic and applied research, policy development, and development control. He has researched various topics, including housing, spatial planning for mining towns, planning practice and education, and zoning. He has over 30 published academic works, he's been involved in policy and research projects as principal, co-investigator, consultant or sub-consultant with a cumulative value of more than a million pounds and was involved in a number of high-level policy projects, such as the review and proposed amendments to the South African Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act. He has taught various topics, primarily at a postgraduate level, including research methodology, applied spatial planning, environmental planning, and economics for planners, amongst others. He has also been involved with more than 100 development control applications. Currently, he's developing research into the capacity and strategies of young people in Brazil, South Africa, and the United Kingdom to recover from COVID-19 containment policies, and the role of non-profits in supporting this (ESRC-FAPESP-NRF grant). |
