Since 2015, Jonathan Rhodes is an associate professor at the University of Queensland, where he entered in 2007 with a postdoctoral research fellowship, becoming a lecturer in 2008 and a senior lecturer in 2012. He holds a bachelor degree in Arts (Hons) - Economics and Mathematics (1991) from the University of Kent, and in Science (Hons) - Ecology with Biology (2000) from the Univerity of East Anglia, and a PhD in Philosophy - Ecology (2005) from the University of Queensland. Mr. Rhodes has a total of 86 publications (peer reviewed journal papers – 78, peer reviewed conference papers – 4, book chapters – 4). His research has had important environmental policy impacts. In particular, his research has directly informed the threatened species listing of the koala in Australia and directly led to a review of conservation policy for the koala in Queensland, Australia. He also works closely with Brisbane City Council to inform their environmental policy through his work on ecosystem services and they are using this information to prioritise activities in green space in the city. |
